About Me

I grew up trying out just about every art project you could imagine.  My mother was an artist and an art teacher so we were always dabbling in different art mediums such as block printing, silk screening, batik dyeing, calligraphy, drawing, oil and watercolor painting and of course weaving, sewing, knitting and crocheting. I originally worked as a display person in a major department store, but once I had my daughter I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom.  My mother had a weaving shop that I worked at while in high school and had since built a second story on their house where her studio now resided.  She was selling weaving items faster than she could make them so in 1982, I went to work for her as a weaver, and never looked back.  I designed her scarf line, which in turn, we designed our fabric from so everything would coordinate.  My mother passed away in 2008 so I was left with trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the business.  I decided in 2016 to take everything out of the shops and galleries we'd been selling in and opened an online store. In 2018, I started doing the local fiber shows. I love what I do.  Walking into my studio everyday and being inspired by all of the colors, yarns, textures is so rewarding.  I feel very blessed.  -Nanette
